YOUTH PHILANTHROPY CONTEST

The Youth Philanthropy Contest is an exciting opportunity for youth and young adults to use their creativity, compassion, and love of their community to make a difference! The Columbus Area Philanthropy Council encourages local youth (kindergarten to age 22) to ask themselves: How can I make a difference in my community?

Applicants submit their ideas to change the world, right here in their own backyard. Contest winners will receive up to $1,000, and a mentor, to help implement their projects.

Rockin' for the Residents

Second graders from a local elementary school were invited to learn a dance and perform for the residents at Brookestone Acres. These students otherwise would have not had an opportunity to do dance.

The Real Cure

A small library was built for Columbus Community Hospital to give patients the opportunity to dive into a book.

Good Night's Sleep

Air mattresses, sheets, blankets and pillows were provided to kids in the Columbus community who do not have beds of their own. These items provide kids a better chance of getting a good night’s sleep.

Cancer Care Packages

Canvas totes with necessary supplies were gathered and put together to comfort the patients receiving chemotherapy at Columbus Cancer Center. Hand-written positive notes were also written.

Twirling Tutus

A summer dance class for kindergarten through third grade was provided to kids within our community who cannot afford dance. The free four-week class ends with a recital at Columbus Days.
